Community Ministries

Prairie Creek is active in the life of our community. No church can do everything a community needs, but we have identified several ways we can help. We invite you to join us. For more information, email the ministry leader as indicated below.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

The world is coming to Plano, and many of them need to learn English. ESL has become a centerpiece of our community ministries as we seek to connect with newcomers who need help navigating American life and learning the language. We have classes and conversation groups for all levels which meet on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. through the school year. Registration for fall classes is Wednesday, August 29, from 6:30-8:00 p.m.  Classes will resume Wednesday, September 5, from 6:30-

8:00 p.m. For photos of our End-of-Year Celebration, click here.  If you are a native speaker and have a willing heart, we can teach you the rest. Email Steve.

World Garden

Some of us feel called to provide wholesome food for people and a place to grow it. We plant familiar foods like tomatoes and cucumbers plus more exotic fare like African spinach. Help us garden. Help us harvest every Saturday at 10:00 a.m., weather permitting. Suggest new crops. We'd love to hear from you. Email Susan.

Fuel Diner

As a part of our Connections Night, we offer a free meal on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:20 p.m. during the school year. We invite you to eat with us, or help us cook and serve. Donations are greatly appreciated but not required. Email Nancy.

Kidz Closet

Kidz Closet provides new and gently used clothing for free for school aged kids. The closet is open on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. during the school year or by appointment. Donation baskets for children's clothing ONLY are provided in the main hallway of the Education Building. We are always grateful for donations of clothing, help sorting clothes, and volunteers to help the shoppers on Wednesday nights. Email Kim.

Embrace Grace/Embrace Life

The vision of Embrace Grace is for every young woman with an unplanned pregnancy to have a church to go to for emotional and spiritual support. Embrace Life equips single new moms with not only how to survive but to thrive.  Our women are seeking to be that church for young women and their families who choose life. Do you want to help, know someone who needs help, or need help yourself? Email Mandy.
