NewDay Services impacts families by focusing on helping
fathers who have become a part of the CPS system. The class is called Focus
(Fathers Offering Children Unfailing Support) Fatherhood. These men are at a
tough place in their lives and so are their children. We help them better
understand how to navigate the CPS system. We teach them to live within what
they can control and to take the focus off of what they cannot control. We give
them good insights on what a man should do and be, and what the primary role of
a dad is. We teach them about co-parenting, whether they are still with the mom
or not. Finally, we give them good insights on how to communicate with their
kids and how to help them to grow up to have the values they want them to have
as adults.
We need men who are interested in investing in this kind of
work. You will have the opportunity to sit with the guys in class, contribute
in class, talk with them, and make connections with them. You may have chances
to pray with them and even mentor them.
We meet on Tuesdays from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in Rooms 200 an 202. Email Robby.
