Our History

Prairie Creek Baptist Church was begun as a satellite congregation of First Baptist Church, Plano, in 1972, meeting at Shepard Elementary School. In 1975, we moved to our present location at 3201 W. 15th Street in Plano, constituted as a self-supporting and autonomous congregation, and called Bob C. Ross as pastor, who led the church for 29 years. During this time, our Education building, gymnasium, and Worship Center were built. Upon his retirement, the church called Bobby Bressman as pastor, who served us for the next five years.

Through an intentional interim process, the church renewed her vision for ministries in the community. This included such things as English language classes, a children’s clothing closet, and a free dinner on Wednesdays. On March 1, 2011, we called Randall Worley to serve as pastor. Under Pastor Randall’s leadership, we seek to reach the diverse community around our church by connecting them to God and to one another. Every fifth Sunday, we combine our services and have a multilingual worship service followed by an international food festival where people bring favorite dishes from around the world to share together.
